Nothing is actually spreading anywhere. Your authoritative servers give the new answer the instant you save it. The delay is millions of separate caches, each one waiting out the TTL it happens to be holding before it bothers to ask again.
That is why the process is uneven, with every resolver on its own clock, and why some visitors see the new site while others still see the old one. Both are being served honestly from caches in different states.

The questions we get asked most
How long does propagation genuinely take?
Exactly as long as the previous TTLs, which with sensible values means minutes to a couple of hours, stretching to a day or two in the worst cases of long TTLs and sluggish resolvers. The '48 hours' everyone quotes is the ceiling, not the normal case.
Can I speed propagation up once the change is made?
For caches you own — your computer, your router — flush them and they refresh. For everybody else's, no, their timers are their own. The lever is preparation: TTLs lowered in advance make the next change quick, while this one rides on the settings you had before.
What happens to my files if I leave?
The site and the files stay yours. Pull a full backup from the panel whenever you like, before or during cancellation. Domains remain registered in your name for the term you paid for and can move to any registrar once the standard 60-day window has passed.
Who actually runs the company?
Hosting Seller is a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales — a real business with a public record and terms published under English law. Looking that up is worth doing about any host before you hand over your domain.
