Who administers the server?
You do. A dedicated server here is self-managed with full root access, which is exactly what keeps the price where it is and hands you the final say over the software stack — what goes on it, how it is configured, and when it gets updated. To flatten the learning curve, every machine arrives with the free Hestia control panel already installed, so you get a web interface for sites, mail, DNS and databases from first boot rather than a bare prompt. Our half of the arrangement is everything below your operating system: the physical hardware, the network, power and connectivity, and any platform-level fault — watched and supported 24/7. Day-to-day administration of the OS, securing applications, managing users and tuning services stays with you, though our team still answers the common questions and steers you toward a fix. Would rather not run the OS at all? A panel such as cPanel automates most of that work.
Which operating systems can I have?
AlmaLinux 9 is the default, and it suits most workloads: a stable, free, enterprise-grade Linux that is binary-compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, so anything written for RHEL or CentOS runs on it unchanged. Want something else? Other major distributions — Ubuntu LTS, Debian and Rocky Linux among them — are available on request, and full root access means the OS can be configured however your applications need it. On the panel side, the free Hestia control panel comes pre-installed, though you are welcome to run the server with no panel at all and manage services directly, or add cPanel under its own licence if that is the environment you and your clients already know. Tell us your preferred OS and panel when you order and the machine is handed over ready to use, so nobody spends their first day reinstalling.
How soon is the server handed over?
Usually inside 24 hours of your payment clearing, and often sooner. It is not the instant activation you would get with shared hosting, because real hardware is being prepared for you alone. What you receive is not a blank box either: it comes with your chosen operating system and control panel installed, the network configured, and everything ready for a first login, so you can start deploying instead of running installers. Have particular requirements — a specific distribution, a partition layout, a certain panel? Say so on the order and we build it that way from the outset. How is this different from one large VPS?
