Auto-renew if you want it

Switch it on and a name you care about won't be lost to a date nobody wrote down.

Two numbers, both on show

Register price and renewal price sit in the same row, so the second invoice holds nothing back.

An ending for whatever you're building

FAQ

Domain questions, answered plainly

Renewals, privacy, transfers and how quickly you get going.

Will the renewal figure jump on me in year two?

It won't, and you needn't take that on faith — both numbers sit in the table above before you order anything. The renewal column is what you are billed each year from the second onward. A few endings, .xyz among them, run a reduced first year; where that happens, budget against the standard renewal printed alongside it. Nothing is held back for the invoice to reveal later.

Is WHOIS privacy genuinely free?

Genuinely. It goes on by default for any domain whose registry allows it, which covers most gTLDs — .com, .net and .org included. Your real name, postal address, email and phone number are replaced by shielded placeholders in the public record at no charge, and that alone spares you a good share of the spam and cold calls domain owners tend to collect. A handful of country-code endings forbid privacy for registry reasons; those are the only ones left out.

Has the ICANN fee already been added in?

It has. Generic endings carry a compulsory ICANN levy — around $0.18 a year at present — and we have folded it into the register and renewal figures listed here. Checkout adds nothing on top of them.

Can I bring across a domain I registered somewhere else?

Usually, yes. Unlock it where it currently sits, ask that registrar for the EPP auth code, then start the move on our transfer page. A standard gTLD transfer adds a whole year of registration, charged at the ordinary renewal rate. ICANN rules mean the name has to be 60 days old or more, and it cannot have changed registrar in the previous 60 days.

How quickly can I put the domain to work?

Registration itself is close to immediate. Once you aim the name at your hosting, DNS changes usually spread within minutes and finish circling the globe inside a few hours. If we host the site, a free SSL certificate is issued and fitted the moment the domain starts resolving — you do nothing at all.

Do I have to buy hosting to register a name here?

No. Register the domain on its own and send it wherever you like. Put it with our cheapest plan, though, and you get one dashboard, one invoice, a certificate fitted for you and a working site inside a few minutes.

Add hosting from $2.09/mo

Put the name and the hosting on one invoice, in one dashboard, and have the site up before the day is out.

See Hosting Plans

Names start at $2.99, and the figure you will pay next year is printed beside it. That second number is the one most registrars keep quiet about, and it is the one that decides what a name really costs. Underneath sits NVMe storage, LiteSpeed caching and a 99.9% uptime commitment we put in writing rather than in a brochure.

Written for anyone putting their own name on the web. Every plan carries free SSL, a free transfer, daily backups and 30 days to change your mind about any hosting you buy.

The renewal price is on the tag

Search, register and manage names in one place: DNS records you edit yourself, transfer locks, auto-renew you can switch off, and WHOIS privacy free on the extensions that allow it. Point a name at hosting here in a click, or at somebody else's servers — it is your name either way.

Speed here comes out of the stack rather than out of a plugin: NVMe arrays keep reads short, LiteSpeed answers over HTTP/2, and caching happens at the server before your application is asked to do any work at all.

What you pay in year two

The oldest trick in hosting is a cheap first year followed by a quiet increase. Hosting Seller prices the other way: the figure you sign up at is the figure that renews, and anything promotional says so on the page before you pay. Registrations are the one thing we cannot unwind, because the registry takes the name the moment the order goes through — so check the spelling, and check the renewal figure sitting beside the first-year price.

First-year deals are common; quiet third-year increases are commoner. The renewal figure sits next to the registration figure on every extension, so you can do the arithmetic before you order rather than after.

What comes with a name registered here

DNS for your names is served from redundant nameservers in tier-3 facilities, so records resolve quickly wherever the visitor happens to be. Registry transfers, locks and contact changes all happen in the same panel as your hosting.

Support is staffed every hour by people who administer these servers, and first replies usually land inside 15 minutes. There is no tier where you get handed to a bot instead.

  • Renewal price shown beside the first-year price
  • Free WHOIS privacy on eligible extensions
  • Daily backups with self-service restores
  • Free SSL fitted and renewed automatically

Worth Knowing

More of what comes with it

Transfers stay unlocked

Your name, your call. Unlock it and take it elsewhere whenever you like — we will not sit on the auth code.

Move up without moving out

Bigger plans are one confirmation away, and you only pay the difference from the day you switch.

Nothing holding you here

Standard backups and standard panels mean you can leave whenever you like. Most people simply do not.

Quick from the first request

Your domain sits on NVMe storage behind LiteSpeed caching — quick before you touch a single setting.

HTTPS on the house

Certificates are issued and renewed automatically on every domain, and never appear on an invoice.

The move is on us

Hand over your current login and the domain arrives here free — files, databases and DNS included.

Starting Out

Three steps and you're set up

  1. 1

    Take one off the shelf

Search for the name and read the renewal figure printed beside it.

  2. 2

    Attach your name

Register it from $2.99, or transfer one you already own.

  3. 3

    Launch it

Point it at hosting here in a click, or edit the DNS records yourself.

Still Asking

A few more we hear often

Can I transfer a domain away later?

Yes, and there is no argument about it. Unlock the name in the panel, request the auth code and it appears straight away. Registry rules stop a name moving within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer, but that clock belongs to the registry, not to us.

How soon can I be up and running?

Checkout provisions the account automatically — minutes rather than days. If there is an existing domain to bring across, our migration team usually finishes inside 24 hours and times the switch so nothing goes dark.

Will the price change at renewal?

The same tag, the same amount. We do not run an introductory price that quietly doubles once you have settled in.

Is a domain registration refundable?

No registrar can offer one — the registry claims the name the second the order goes through, so this is an industry rule rather than a house rule. Read the spelling twice before you confirm. The renewal figure is printed beside the first-year price, so at least year two never catches you out.
