Partner Programme

Run the hosting shop on your high street

Building a good platform is something we can do. Speaking your language is not, nor taking money the way your customers pay, nor being the face they already trust. All three are yours. Partnerships from $14.99/mo.

Why You, Not Us

Four things you can do and we simply cannot

This is not flattery. It is the plain reason a partner outsells our own marketing in most countries.

You sell in the local language

English is what this site and our support desk run on. Your shop does not have to. Selling in the language a customer actually thinks in gives you an advantage that no effort from London will ever copy.

You take money the local way

Our bill reaches you in USD, on a card. What your own customers do to settle up is entirely your business: bank transfer, mobile money, notes handed over a counter, whatever really works where you trade.

People there already trust you

Someone buying for the first time backs a face they know, long before they back a foreign company whose name means nothing to them. You hold that trust. It wins sales our marketing will never get near.

You answer in local hours

You take the first-line questions, at the hours your customers are actually awake. Behind you, whatever hour it happens to be, we hold up the infrastructure underneath.

The Arithmetic

What the margin comes to

Worked from our own price list on the middle reseller tier. Your figures will differ; the shape of them won't.

Reseller margin, worked through as a sum
What the plan costs you$29.99/mo buys 60 GB and 250 client accounts
Charge per active account$0.40 per active account per month
With 30 clients on it$29.99 plus $12.00 = $41.99/mo out the door
Selling at $5/mo each$150/mo in → about $108/mo stays with you
Selling at $8/mo each$240/mo in → around $198/mo left in hand
Stack a care plan above itUpdates and backups on retainer, and often the bigger line item

None of these figures include the local tax you may have to add for your customers. Look through every reseller tier and its specs.

Common Questions

Questions partners ask first

Where does this part company with the affiliate programme?

Send a customer our way as an affiliate and you take a cut of what we bill them, while the relationship and the support desk stay with us. A partner takes on everything instead. You buy capacity from us, set your own price tags, invoice under your own name and field the first questions yourself. An affiliate earns a slice for very little work. A partner runs a hosting business on our platform and keeps the margin whole. Already building sites for people, or looking after them? Partnering pays better in nearly every case.

Do my customers ever stumble onto your name?

Only if you say so. Nameservers belong to you, your branding sits on the control panel, and the invoices go out under your name. One thing we would rather put plainly than bury: the servers stand in London, so a customer who digs into where their site lives finds a UK location. Geography, not a hole in your branding. Hardly anyone ever looks, in practice.

What happens if I have never run a hosting business before?

Freelance designers and small studios make up most of the partners who come to us. They build sites already, and they are worn down by sending clients elsewhere for the hosting. The technical half is kinder than it looks. WHM opens the accounts and fixes the limits, cPanel is a screen your clients have met before, and provisioning means filling in a form, not building a server. The parts that need real thought are your prices and what you promise on support. We will talk both through with you before anything gets signed.

What can I honestly expect to earn?

Look at the table above for the arithmetic. Put briefly: what you earn follows what you bundle, not how far you undercut the next seller. Resell hosting alone on a thin markup and you get a small monthly trickle. Wrap it inside a site-care retainer instead, with updates, backups and a promise that somebody picks up the phone, and that is where partners make real money, because the fee buys responsibility rather than disk space. Fifteen clients on a care plan is an income. Fifteen clients on bare hosting is beer money.

Which markets are you hunting for partners in right now?

Anywhere we sell badly on our own, which covers most of the map. The UK and Europe are ground we already hold. What we want most are partners across Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Latin America, where the language, the payment habits and the local trust all belong to you rather than to us. A caveat before you plan around any of it: the servers sit in London. Latency is excellent across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It is workable for the Americas and South Asia once caching is doing its job, and it is frankly poor for Australia and East Asia. Read our infrastructure page, then pick your market knowing that.

Will you move clients I currently host with someone else?

Yes, and it costs you nothing. Moving an existing client book is the one job that keeps people welded to a platform they have outgrown, so we run the migration beside you rather than posting you a guide and wishing you luck. Tell us what you hold and where it sits today. We will plan the move so your clients notice nothing and your weekend survives.

What do you ask of me in return?

That your own customers hear from you first, that your marketing stays honest, and that you stop short of overselling capacity to the point where clients start to feel it. What you charge and how you brand yourself are yours alone, and we will not meddle in either. One request we do hold firm on: do not claim things about our infrastructure that are not true. Our reputations are roped together, and a customer promised a datacentre down the road will be cross with the pair of us once they find out.

Tell us about your patch.

Where you trade, what you already sell, and how your customers pay. We will say plainly whether we suit that market — including the times we don't.
