Italy in Particular
Rules that bite in this market only
Milan acts as Italy's principal internet hub and sits roughly 25 ms from London, so anyone browsing from the north gets decent speed. One thing we cannot offer: .it is not a domain we sell. Living in the EU, you can take a .eu instead, which we do stock, and .com works from anywhere at all.

Visa, Mastercard or American Express, on credit or debit, issued in Italy or anywhere else, so long as the card is cleared for international payments. Stripe processes it end to end, so those card numbers never land on our machines.

Can I order from Italy?
Yes. Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards issued in Italy all go through, and the account builds itself the moment the payment clears — nobody signs it off by hand, and nothing requires you to sit in the UK. The tag reads in EUR so you can weigh up the cost; the charge lands on your card in USD.
What do people in Italy usually pay with, and does your till take it?
Straight answer rather than the flattering one. PostePay and a plain bank transfer both see heavy use in Italy. Neither works with us. Italian Visa and Mastercard cards, on the other hand, clear as normal. A card cleared for international payments is the one method we can always take. Better you learn that here than after you have spent an hour picking a plan.
Will the site feel quick to visitors in Italy?
The machines sit in London, about 10–35 ms from you. So fast that shifting to a host nearby would gain you nothing. In practice a first-time reader pulling a cached page rarely feels the distance, because that page can come from an edge location near them. Where the distance shows is logged-in work — the WordPress admin, a checkout, anything that cannot be cached — since every action travels to London and back. Is there tax to pay on an order placed in Italy?
Buy from inside the EU and VAT may be due on the order. Where it applies, checkout works the figure out and prints it on screen before you part with a penny, so nothing gets bolted onto the total afterwards. Registered for VAT as a business? Enter your number at that point and the reverse charge takes care of it.
Must I be in the UK to hold an account?
No. The company behind the counter is British — IGI Security Services Ltd, registered in England and Wales under number 15881180, which anyone can check on the public Companies House register — but buying hosting carries no residency test and no business-registration test. An order placed in Italy runs through exactly as a London one does.
And if it turns out to be the wrong fit?
Change your mind on a hosting plan inside 30 days and we refund it; on reseller the window is 7. Either way that leaves room to build something real and measure how it performs for your own audience, instead of believing the numbers we print. Not right for you? Say so and the money goes back. One thing sits outside all this: domain registrations. Registries charge us the moment a name is booked, so no refund is possible there.
